Moon Chasers was inspired by the remarkable journey of baby sea turtles on Hilton Head Island. After hatching in the sand, they instinctively make their way toward the ocean, guided by the natural light of the moon and stars reflected over the water. During nesting season, beachfront lights are kept off to prevent the hatchlings from becoming disoriented. This painting captures that nighttime migration through a lively arrangement of overlapping forms, movement, and color.
