Oil on panel framed, 6 × 19 inches
Another Sad Flower is a triptych of three small paintings that explore the unexpected personalities of fading flowers. Their drooping petals and awkward gestures give them an almost human quality, expressing a quiet sadness with a touch of humor. Painted loosely and directly from observation, these flowers are less about conventional beauty and more about the character and emotion found in ordinary things.
