Happenstance continues my focus on circles, color, and line. A set of concentric rings forms a circle near the top of the panel, while the composition rests on a curving linear gradient that suggests movement along the line. At the same time, the form can be read as eventually settling into place, implying stasis. This ongoing balance between potential motion and stillness is a recurring element in the series, bringing the language of physics into the work and creating a quiet sense of direction with an indeterminate path. The painting is compact and grounded in straightforward geometric clarity, using clear color relationships to anchor the composition.
