Acrylic and flashe on panel, 10 × 10 inches, 2025
Traverse continues my interest in circles, color, and the shifting relationship between figure and ground. A ring moves outward from a central core, defining space while also allowing the background to come forward. This exchange between foreground and negative space is intentional, creating a simple but active visual rhythm. Two diagonal lines, painted with warm gradients, cuts across the rings and cross over one another adding a clear directional element. The painting is grounded in straightforward geometric clarity.
